A Mare, A Mule, and A Donkey

This rescue wasn’t planned, it found us.

We recently took in a severely neglected horse, donkey, and mule after uncovering a heartbreaking situation on a private farm. The case is still active, and 7 more horses remain at risk. Until they’re safe, we can’t share many details, but know this: it’s bad. We’ve been in the trenches. And we’re tired.

We didn’t intend to take in three more animals.

If we were thinking practically, we would’ve waited until the funding was secure.

But we weren’t thinking practically, we were thinking with our hearts. And we couldn’t look away.

Thanks to our community, we raised the funds to get them on the trailer to safety.

Now they’re here at our South Carolina farm, surrounded by love and fresh hay.

But the hardest part is just beginning.
