Goal

Cancer — the word no one wants to hear.
We all know someone who has faced this devastating diagnosis. For me, that moment came in 2020 when I was diagnosed with DCIS (Ductal Carcinoma In Situ), an early-stage breast cancer confined to the milk ducts. I was one of the lucky ones — it was caught early, Stage 0 — but even with that, I was overwhelmed with fear, uncertainty, and questions about what came next.

In my search for support, I discovered Ann’s Place (annsplace.org),

a haven for people living with cancer and their families. Their mission is to provide free counseling, support groups, and wellness services to those navigating one of life’s hardest journeys. I was fortunate to be paired with a counselor who had personally battled breast cancer. Her insight and compassion made a world of difference in helping me process my diagnosis and prepare for treatment. I also joined a support group where I found strength and comfort in hearing the experiences of others walking a similar path.

Having access to Ann’s Place during that time was a gift. Their services lifted me up when I needed it most — and now, it’s my turn to give back.

I’m honored to be participating in the On the Runway Familiar Faces Fashion Show, walking not only in honor of my own journey but also in memory of three incredible women I hold close in my heart:

  • My beautiful sister, Linda, who passed away at just 31 from ovarian cancer and melanoma
  • My loving aunt, Sylvia, who lost her battle with stomach cancer at 75
  • And my sweet mother-in-law, Mary, who passed away from pancreatic cancer at 85

Each of these women left a lasting mark on my life, and I miss them more than words can express.

I’m asking you to help me honor them — and others like them — by donating to Ann’s Place.
If you’ve lost someone you love to cancer, please consider making a gift in their memory.
If someone close to you has survived cancer, donate in celebration of their strength.
Every single dollar helps keep Ann’s Place’s doors open for the next family who needs them.

💛 No donation is too small.
💛 Every gift is deeply appreciated.
💛 Your support will directly impact someone facing cancer today.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Let’s make sure no one faces cancer alone!
