OMF Community Outreach d/b/a OMF Cares is a 501 (c) (3) Veterans service provider committed to helping Veterans and their families find success in combating homelessness, strengthening their personal and professional relationships, and becoming viable contributors in their communities.
OMF Cares serves in three distinct pillars:
Combating Homelessness: by providing pathways to employment, financial stability, and homeownership, we partner with local financial and housing experts to get our veterans off the streets and out of their cars and back on their feet.
Strengthening Relationships: by providing specific relationship building skills, military couples will have a far greater likelihood of maintaining a strong and stable marriage. We provide seminars designed to address the core issues that are common for military marriages and transform the lives of these couples so that their relationships thrive. Since our inception in 2012, OMFC has served 4,500 (2,250 couples)...marriages have been preserved....families have remained intact.
Equipping Communities and Families: OMFC will partner with first responders from fire districts in Snohomish and Pierce counties who will provide the infrastructure for the project. OMFC will provide the recruitment, training, mentoring, equipment and uniforms for these Veterans to be part of a Veteran Response Unit (VRU), which is the backbone of this program. They will be placed alongside the first responders to provide critical emergency medical services, especially in the first 0-72 hours of catastrophic events such as mudslides, earthquakes, active shooters, and terrorist attacks.
