Goal
In the Oldman Backyard Ultra, runners complete a 6.7 km lap every hour, for as many hours as they can. This event is also a fundraiser for Youth One in Lethbridge, an organization that provides out-of-school programs and support services for youth.
I have been involved with this event from the beginning, first as a volunteer, and then as an athlete. Last year, after choosing my shoes poorly, I tapped out after six laps. But I raised almost $2000 for Youth One, which I consider a grand success!
For more information on Youth One click here.
This year, I've got my sights on 15 laps or more, to crest the 100 km mark! Training is well underway. The event takes place on May 2, 2026 at Pavan Park in Lethbridge
For every $1500 raised at the event, one youth is sponsored for a full year at Youth One, giving them access to all programs, meals, and support services. Can you help me sponsor a youth? Two? Three?
Here's how you can get involved. You can make a per-lap pledge (say, $2, $5, $10), and I would let you know how many laps I completed after the event and ask you to make your total donation here.
If you would rather just make a straight donation rather than paying per lap, you can make that donation at any time on my profile page (this page).
Thanks for your support!
