About Our Amazing Fighters: 

Our Amazing Fighters is a 501c3 nonprofit that was founded in 2014 by LeAnna Headley, who was one of Katie's closest friends. Our Amazing Fighters is dedicated to raising awareness, providing support, and spreading joy to kids and their families in the fight against pediatric cancer. Our Amazing Fighters believes that every family fighting this disease should have a community fighting alongside them. 

They provide a wide range of assistance to families across the country in 3 main program areas... 

-Awareness and Advocacy Initiatives 

-Family Support Programming 

-Overnight Experiences & Therapeutic Community Gatherings  

The whole team at Our Amazing Fighters adored Katie and are grateful for the gift of loving her, particularly our founder, LeAnna, who was a good friend of Katie’s. We will spend the rest of our lives sharing her story, and honoring her through the work that we do & have no doubt her light will guide us each step of the way.

About Katie: 

Katie was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma at the age of 17 when she was a senior in high school. She was an athlete, lover of all things nature, artist, swiftie, daughter, and friend. Throughout her fight, she devoted herself to raising awareness, sharing her story, and simply, being a battle buddy- supporting & helping others find hope in the midst of their battles. 

Katie was a talented artist & started a small business called Katie's Collective where she designed cancer awareness and nature inspired artwork, stickers, and mugs.

Despite her nearly 6 year fight with terminal cancer. Katie fought valiantly with unmatched passion for life. She squeezed in trips, made time for friends, worked craft fairs, enjoyed concerts, got engaged all while she endured countless chemotherapies, rounds of radiations, surgeries, and a stem cell transplant.

Katie taught us all how to live with intentionality, with joy, and with an unbridled sense of adventure & we will miss her deeply. 

Katie, you will always be Our Amazing Fighter.
