Team NYUL 2025 TCS New York City Marathon

I'm proud to be running the New York City Marathon this year in support of the New York Urban League (NYUL), an organization whose mission deeply resonates with me as an elementary school teacher and my teaching philosophy. NYUL empowers underserved communities in NYC by helping them secure a first-class education, economic self-reliance, and equal respect of their civil rights through programs, partnerships, services, and advocacy. In my own classroom, I work to create a space where every student feels seen, valued, and celebrated for their uniqueness. I teach about equity, foster a sense of belonging, and introduce my students to the diverse communities and perspectives that make up our world. Running for NYUL allows me to extend that work beyond my classroom, helping to support students and families across New York City through educational resources, career training, and community empowerment programs.
