Team Hope Story - TCS New York City Marathon 2024

This November, I'll be running the TCS New York City Marathon in honor of my beautiful niece, Josie Hope Rendon, and her amazing family. Early in her pregnancy with Josie, my sister (Kacie) and her husband (Mark) learned that Josie would be born with Down Syndrome. Shortly after receiving this diagnosis, they were connected with advocates from Hope Story who provided timely encouragement, support, and resources that joyfully reframed what the coming months and years would hold. 

Josie went through some considerable medical challenges in her first few years of life. However, through multiple heart surgeries, a tracheotomy, and frequent near-death experiences in the NICU, the Lord protected that baby girl and delivered her to a place of considerably improved health. Now she can be taken off her ventilator during the day, has started dance classes, and is an absolute light to everyone she meets. She's truly our family's Hope Story.
