NURSING HOME MINISTRY
The Purpose of ADOPT A HOME MINISTRY is to activate churches in order to get them to consistently visit the elderly residents within nursing homes near them. Loneliness is often the biggest complaint of residents which leads to anxiety and depression. Our goal is to get someone from the Church Body on a daily basis to visit every home and socialize with them.
We are also attempting to add a prayer line so residents can call when someone can not be there in person to pray with them. Many times residents want to pray with someone before they pass away and a minister can not get there in time. This is a way to fill in the gap. However, this is a costly expense to roll out.
Currently there are over 15,000 nursing homes in the U.S. and that is about to increase greatly with the "baby-boomers" entering their senior years. On average 3 people pass away per month per home in the U.S. if you agree that it is important for the Church Body to spend time with these precious people and that they should have the ability to pray with someone when needed please help us make this a reality.
God Bless!
