Ntombizimele

Ntombizimele means “A woman who stands on her own.” Ntombizimele (pronounced “Nn-tome-bee-zeemay-lay”), is a women’s empowerment ministry led by Maureen Nyaka. The ministry is dedicated to uplifting, equipping, and empowering women and girls to achieve independence and dignity. Its vision is to create a community where women and girls are empowered, skilled, and confident through skills, mentorship, wellness and dignity programs. Recipients of its services inlcude women seeking independence, young girls facing challenges, gender-based violence (GBV) survivors, aspiring entrepreneurs, and schoolgirls in need. Ntombizimele will strive to help women develop skills for: beadwork and digital literacy, transport and reseller support, and entrepreneurial training. Social support includes survivor support groups and hygiene support. Health and wellness support includes hygiene and mental health and the sanitary pad initiative.
