Northland Emergency Response fund
In 2020, Northland’s vulnerable population struggled with the health, social, and financial effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2023, thousands were left without power, water, and road access, and many were also made homeless and lost their food stores and belongings following Cyclone Gabrielle.
Emergencies such as pandemics and natural disasters can strike at any time, and we need to be ready. That’s why Northland Community Foundation established the Northland Emergency Response Fund.
Can you help?
Donate today to build a fund that will support our most vulnerable communities to recover from the current cyclone right now. Once the current need has passed, the fund will continue to grow so that it’s ready to deliver when the next emergency arrives.
We will deliver the funds as quick response grants to local community groups working on emergency response and recovery. By having the funds available in reserve we can respond much more quickly, so the help gets to the people in need as soon as possible.
If you can assist with a donation, please help us build a fund to respond to Cyclone Gabrielle and future emergencies in Te Tai Tokerau Northland.
Ngā mihi nui, thank you.
