Goal
Pupukea School House is a progressive, nature-based educational organization honoring children as the naturally resourceful, creative and whole stewards of a just and thriving future.
We are in our first year of operations, and in order to fulfill our mission and keep tuition accessible to our community we need to raise $60,000. Every bit you can offer will help!
Incorporating Montessori, Waldorf, and Green School methodologies as well as other inquiry-based approaches, we strive to make our studies as rich and experiential as possible. Through our unique curriculum, we go above and beyond the current state and national standards.
At its heart, our curriculum incorporates the following:
mindfulness, environmentalism, leadership, entrepreneurship, creative arts, cultural studies, contemplation, collaboration, social and emotional learning, personal, physical and academic skills.
5-Year Vision: We intend that Pūpūkea Schoolhouse becomes a lasting part of the North Shore community. There’s a need for a program like ours, and the community’s vocal interest is very high. As we look to the future, we have five main goals that we would like to achieve over the next five years:
K-8th grade: 5-6 classes of mixed age students, approximately 60-70 students total
Additional facilities and classrooms
Staff Expansion with Specialty Teachers
Community Enrichment Programs in combination with the school students
Establish a true connection between school and surrounding community
Provide our children with the best learning & growing environment
A living, learning collaborative:
Pūpūkea School House will share learning, vision, mission and create spaces for accelerated scaling of other similar school houses in other communities – both in Hawai’i and around the world.
Through this living, learning collaborative community we will learn our way into the futures of school and act as a beacon for others who can see that the traditional models of education are no longer serving our children.
