Goal
Help NOMO in our effort to reduce all violence (physical, psychological ,cultural, verbal, financial, etc) in the lives of those we serve by providing them a pathway to success
Currently, with 3 locations in the most underserved communities in Philadelphia which also have the highest rates of gun violence, and its direct work with the youth from the juvenile justice system, NOMO is working to ensure all of its participants have what they need to be prepared for the school year and have a sustained safe place for them after school. To that end, NOMO is launching the #NOMOviolence campaign that will work with local and national partners to ensure our students have the resources they need ranging from counseling to career skill development to basic school supplies.
NOMO’s past success
Over the last 11 years, we have served over 1000 youth and families
Over 300 justice impacted families have been reconciled, and less than 1 percent youth have been further impacted by the justice system.
In 2020 we served over 200 young people virtually and in person, 60 were placed in the workforce, 10 became business owners, graduated 5 seniors all of whom went to college, 2 presidential scholarships, 80 made honor roll, and 4 national honor-society.
In 2021, NoMo graduated 6 seniors, one received the Bill Gates scholarship, 3 Ivy league acceptance and 3 HBCU accepted. One youth established her own nonprofit and received her first $200,000 grant.
In 2022, our top scholar received the Coca-Cola Scholarship award and a free ride to Duke University.
To date 65% of our youth have become gainfully employed, 90% have successfully graduated high school, and 70% have entered college.
