Mauricio originally joined Connecting Champions with a passion for social work and helping young adults like this throughout their cancer journey. We introduced him to Emily, a children’s hospital social worker to talk about her background and education. However, Mauricio’s passion switched as he became interested in investigative journalism, resulting in him meeting with Jonathan, a journalist and reporter in Cleveland. The bulk of Mauricio’s conversations with Jonathan revolves around how to approach the sensitive topics that he covers. Mauricio is currently reading the book that Jonathan wrote, and their next call will be centered around what he learns.
