This GivingTuesday, I’m asking you to make a donation to the National Harm Reduction Coalition (NHRC) to help address the devastating impact of the War on Drugs—better known as a war on people.

This war targets Black, Indigenous, Latinx/e, and Queer communities. It targets people experiencing houselessness, historically underserved, and under-resourced people and communities. It’s a war on me and the people I love and care about.

The harm is real. It’s in the glaring inequities, the relentless criminalization, and the heartbreaking loss of life. Every single day, we lose loved ones to preventable overdoses. Every single day, harm reduction workers and Syringe Services Programs step up, doing whatever it takes to save lives—despite operating with far too few resources.

I know firsthand how transformative harm reduction can be. Harm reduction services literally saved my life and lifted me up with the support and dignity I needed.   

NHRC is ready to do more. To save more lives. To fight harder for the people who need us the most. But they can’t do it alone.

Your donation today makes an immediate impact. It supports life-saving programs, trains healthcare providers to offer compassionate care, strengthens harm reduction organizations, and advances harm reduction as a public health priority.
