Goal
This Giving Tuesday, help me support the National Harm Reduction Coalition in addressing the ongoing harm caused by the War on Drugs—a war on people. Our people. As a disabled person who has relied on opioids for pain relief since I was a teenager, I know first-hand the importance of harm reduction. It's not just a strategy; it’s a lifeline for people who deserve dignity, autonomy, and access to safe care.
Harm reduction is more than a response to overdose; it’s a vision for justice. The War on Drugs has disproportionately harmed Black, Indigenous, Latinx/e, and Queer communities, stripping away resources, fueling inequities, and escalating stigma and criminalization. For disabled people, the stakes are even higher—our lives and well-being are entangled with systemic barriers to care, social stigma, and a healthcare system that often fails to support us. Disability justice and harm reduction are intertwined in this struggle, both rooted in the belief that everyone deserves safety, support, and self-determination.
Every day, harm reduction workers, including those in Syringe Services Programs, offer essential, compassionate support despite limited resources. But to meet the urgent needs of our communities, we need your help. Your donation empowers us to train healthcare providers in compassionate care, expand life-saving services, and make harm reduction a public health priority. Together, we can create a world where no one faces stigma, judgment, or a lack of resources when they need us most.
Join me in this work. Let’s save lives, uplift communities, and make harm reduction accessible for all.
