MESSAGE FROM OUR CO-FOUNDER
MARCELA GOMEZ-BOGOMOLNI
I started the process of being a Jew through my spiritual growth after learning about Judaism and therefore Kabbalah. Until today I cannot find a better way for the human being to grow. To have a Sefer Torah written is for me a symbolism on earth of how important and meaningful and how powerful it was for me to find Kabbalah, not only as a creed but as a philosophy of life. I want to leave the legacy of Rut Mazal bat Abraham v'Sarah (my Jewish name).
As a Jew by choice, writing a Sefer Torah means leaving a signature for history, for posterity. Where families can pray and can learn Torah and enjoy many simchas (celebrations) that would come from this act of chesed. May this merit be for the elevation of the soul of my mother Miriam Madrid who needed God a lot and did not have it; and for the spiritual elevation and merit of my son and the children of my husband Hazzan Gastón Bogomolni, for their mental health and spiritual growth. It is truly a privilege.
In order for the Sofer (scribe) to begin his work, Tzimtzum has already donated the first $ 5000 dollars for the purchase of the work materials.
IT IS A MITZVAH
It is a mitzvah from the Torah that each individual should write their own Torah scroll (Deuteronomy 31:19). This appears to be a difficult mitzvah to perform as a Torah scroll can range into the tens of thousands. However, as we know, if a letter from the Torah is missing, G'd forbid, then the entire scroll is considered non-kosher. For that reason, each letter is like a complete scroll.
Today we can fulfill the mitzvah not only with a complete written scroll, but with a parasha, a book of the 5 books of the Torah (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy), a pasuk (chapter), a line, a verse , a word, a letter or a special section (10 commandments, Shema, priestly blessing, etc). The donation (with the amount that is most comfortable for you) can be made to the merit of a member in your family, friends, children or in the memory of your loved ones.
