It has been five years since our children received new mattresses. Although each mattress has been protected with a hospital-grade waterproof cover, years of daily use have taken their toll. Many are now flattened, torn, and no longer provide the comfort and support growing children need.

This time, our plan is to purchase high-quality bed-in-a-box twin mattresses in the United States, pair each one with a heavy-duty waterproof mattress protector, and ship them to Haiti. By purchasing in the U.S., we believe we can stretch every donation further while avoiding Haiti's high inflation and the costly transportation required to bring mattresses from the capital to Bombardopolis.

Our goal is to begin raising funds now so we are ready to purchase the mattresses once our dormitory renovation and expansion is underway. Because our current dorm roof has leaks, it is essential that we first complete those repairs before bringing in brand-new beds.

The total cost to provide one child with a new 10–12 inch twin mattress and a durable waterproof protector is $150.
