Supporting Afghan New Arrivals 2021
Hundreds of Afghan families and individuals have recently arrived in Australia, many calling Australia home for the first time.
Welcoming Australia and the Welcoming Centre are working in partnership with a number of organisations, Afghan community groups and individuals to provide dedicated support to our newest neighbours fleeing the ongoing crisis in Afghanistan and settling in Adelaide and South Australia.
As families leave hotel quarantine into the community, we will work to ensure that the generosity of the community is translated into practical help for our newest neighbours settling in to their new life in South Australia.
Any funds raised in excess of meeting the current needs of this specific community will be distributed through the Welcoming Centre to support refugee families, people seeking asylum, other recently arrived migrants and International students.
The Welcoming Centre exists to create a safe, supportive and welcoming space for refugee families, people seeking asylum, recently arrived migrants, and the local community.
