Bovina Montessori Natural Playground

Bovina Center Montessori School  is actively planning a large-scale playground to be designed by Ron King, founder of Natural Playgrounds Company , which has been designing beautiful, safe, and philosophically appropriate natural play spaces for 25 years.

 

No ordinary playground. Conceived for both Bovina Montessori and the community at large, our project will be no ordinary playground. Research shows that conventional playground equipment mainly allows repetitive play and physical exercise, while an intentional natural play environment affords strong cognitive and emotional development of children, including improved concentration, less aggressive behavior, advanced motor fitness, and an overall healthier and more diverse range of play.

 

Designed for the Catskills. To bring a high-quality, safe, natural play environment to our school, and open it to the larger community, we need to fundraise $100,000. The funds will cover design, labor, and materials, with the playground becoming integrated into the topography of our hay field, covering one acre of land.

Bovina Montessori will host a Family Picnic and Concert on June 19, 2022 at 11am no the School's Great Lawn. Bring your picnic basket and blanket and enjoy outdoor fun games and a piano concert with acclaimed concert pianist Kristina Marinova. 

Marinova will play “4 Rhapsodies ” from her latest album, in advance of her upcoming performance at Carnegie Hall in the fall.
