Goal

nabs Canada's dynamic and impactful programming and services have been lifesaving to me and my family. I am very serious. 🆘

This non-profit organization shows up, assembles a circle of care around a person and provides a beacon of light when things seem impossible. 🦸🏻🦸🏻‍♀️

My nabs story is one of humbleness and gratitude because nabs was there to arrange help for my daughter, Lauren, cope with childhood trauma, even when I didn't know it at the time (I just thought it was teenage stuff). Intensive counselling for Lauren helped soothe and untangle her troubled mind without question, without judgment, and free of charge. These mental health tools and strategies she received through the years helped shape her into the woman she is today. 😘

For many of you, you may not have heard of nabs but those in the marketing communications do because this industry has one of the highest rates of stress. Most are freelancers and small to medium to big agencies that are subject to layoffs and market conditions. 😬

You don't just have to take my word for it, because I brought some numbers too:

⭐ 5 Million

In tax free financial supports provided to clients impacted by critical illness, prolonged unemployment, housing eviction, and other challenging life events that including counselling and other supports for the longer term.

⭐ 500
Trained and certified in Mental Health First Aid nationally to help us reduce the stigma and build a community of Mental Health First Aiders in Canada.

⭐ 5 Employee Assistance Programs
nabs is the leading provider of eap services in Canada and strives to ensure the programs and modalities are there for people when they need support with mental health, substance use management, trusted expert digital resources and learning hubs, anonymous peer to peer supports that are safe, trusted and where confidentiality is assured.️

⭐ New DEI Initiatives
In June 2022, nabs launched new DEI initiatives including a crucial Newcomer Employment Success Program (NESP), a DEI Learning Hub to provide the industry with educational training resources, and topical webinars with industry partners.

You betcha, I'm climbing a mountain for this organization - that's the easy part. 💪🏻
