Goal

You won’t believe what I’m doing next! I'm heading to Africa to serve with an amazing organization!

On March 1st, I will be in Mozambique working with Kurandza for two weeks. Kurandza is a grassroots nonprofit organization empowering girls and women through education. What I love about this organization is the empowerment the local team receives to lead and execute operations. I just received their impact report for 2023. Here are some numbers:

    - 255 children with educational sponsorships

    - More than 48,000 days of school funded

    - Almost 250,000 miles traveled through transportation support

Elisabetta, Founder and Executive Director, and I met almost a year ago. Total God thing, I met Rachael at Camp Well the year before. Rachael knew Elisabetta and Kurandza from San Francisco, where Elisabetta lived before moving to Carefree, AZ, less than a mile away from CIVANA! Rachael introduced us, and we became great friends.

I have been working with Elisabetta and Kurandza this past year on managerial, leadership and logistical support and consulting. We are going to Mozambique to visit two cities, Xai Xai and Gujía, where the girls live. There are 6 of us going on this inaugural trip, each using our skills and talents to give back to the team, girls, and community. We need you. We are looking to give back tangibly as well.

The cost of our trip is already paid. Collectively, we are asking our friends, family, followers, community to help us raise $5,000 to provide the preschool with toys, books, equipment, cover the costs of school supplies, uniforms and travel for girls in higher education. Long term, these donations would directly sponsor a girl for education to help lift her family and community out of poverty. Any contribution makes a difference, $25, $50, $100 goes along way in Mozambique. You have the opportunity to pay for a girl’s education that would otherwise be subject to becoming a child bride, turning to prostitution and living in hopeless poverty.

Join me in this adventure! I’ll be sharing the journey on Instagram, and you will see directly where your donation goes, no red tape, no administration costs, right to the communities in Mozambique.

Thank you for your support. I am already so grateful for this opportunity.

With gratitude,

Sarah
