Mother's Day Across Borders / Día de las Madres a través de las Fronteras

Each day thousands of people are held in detention by U.S. immigration authorities, separated from their families as part of the current campaign of mass deportation. Thousands more are housed temporarily in shelters across Mexico after being forcibly removed from the United States. 

The Border Church / La Iglesia Fronteriza invites all people of good will - and faith communities from every tradition - to send a message this Mother's Day (May 10, 2026): 

THOSE BEING DETAINED AND DEPORTED MAY HAVE BEEN SEPARATED FROM THEIR FAMILIES, BUT THEY ARE BELOVED MEMBERS OF ONE HUMAN FAMILY. 

You must not mistreat or oppress foreigners in any way. Remember, you yourselves were once foreigners in the land of Egypt. - Exodus 22:21

DONATE A YELLOW FLOWER NOW 

AS A TANGIBLE SIGN OF SOLIDARITY AND SUPPORT.  

All flowers will be delivered by trusted local organizers to sites of significance in the campaign of mass deportation -- Detention Centers, County and Municipal Jails and Courthouses in the United States, Ports of Entry on the US-Mexico border, and Migrant Shelters in Mexico. 

You can donate your flower in memory or in honor of a friend or loved one, or in solidarity with a detainee or deportee who is known to you. You can select a specific site where your flowers will be delivered, using the drop-down menu. Or make a simple donation without designation and we will deliver your flower(s) where there is greatest need. Cada día, miles de personas son detenidas por las autoridades migratorias estadounidenses, separadas de sus familias como parte de la actual campaña de deportación masiva. Miles más se encuentran alojadas temporalmente en albergues en todo México tras ser expulsadas forzosamente de Estados Unidos.

La Iglesia Fronteriza invita a todas las personas de buena voluntad y comunidades religiosas de todas las tradiciones a enviar un mensaje este Día de las Madres (10 de mayo de 2026):

QUIENES SON DETENIDOS Y DEPORTADOS PUEDEN HABER SIDO SEPARADOS DE SUS FAMILIAS, PERO SON MIEMBROS QUERIDOS DE UNA SOLA FAMILIA HUMANA.

No maltrates ni oprimas a los extranjeros, pues también tú y tu pueblo fueron extranjeros en Egipto. - Éxodo 22:21

COMO MUESTRA TANGIBLE DE SOLIDARIDAD Y APOYO.

Todas las flores serán entregadas por organizadores locales de confianza a lugares importantes para la campaña de deportación masiva: centros de detención, cárceles y juzgados municipales y de condado en Estados Unidos, puertos de entrada en la frontera entre Estados Unidos y México, y albergues para migrantes en México.

Puede donar su flor en memoria o en honor a un amigo o ser querido, o en solidaridad con un detenido o deportado que conozca. Puede seleccionar un lugar específico donde se entregarán sus flores mediante el menú desplegable. O haga una donación sencilla sin designación y entregaremos sus flores donde más se necesiten.
