Monthly Partners for Hope
Restoring Hope Roanoke is working to equip and connect churches so that together the Hope of Christ reaches all communities in the Roanoke Valley.
A recent student, Tina*, is a resident in the Roanoke Rescue Mission Women's Shelter. Multiple attempts to find work seemed to always end in a dead end as potential employers wanted a resume. All she had was a PDF created on a website stored somewhere on her slightly broken government issued phone. She had lost hope that she would ever find work. When visiting the Salvation Army one day, she was told about the Jobs for Life class at a Waverly Place Baptist Church, she was very interested. Nancy met with Tina* to tell her more about the class and to learn about her. She was so excited and felt like this was an answer to prayer. Tina said that the class brought her hope that she could finally find a job! During the class, Tina* also found enrolled in the Good Care course at Goodwill to earn her CNA certification, the type of work she was looking for. Despite the COVID-19 crisis she was able to complete the class and her clinicals, complete her resume and be ready to be hired right away!
God is a God of hope! Pledge today to give monthly and partner with us in continuing to bring the Hope of Christ to others living in great need in the Roanoke Valley.
