Monthly Dog Food

Currently we are getting through 42 bags of dog food a day. 
That's an average of between 1260-1302 bags a month (30/31 days). 
 
This amount changes month to month as we add more rescue mouths to feed. 
But knowing we have at least 45 bags/day is a safety net we want to keep. 

This isn't just for the Safehouse, we also provide dog food to the clinics where our dogs are being treated to help reduce costs.
 
Our currently monthly donations are sadly still too low, and each month we are getting more and more indebted. Our monthly overheads NOT INCLUDING THIS FOOD COST are:
 
• Veterinary bills
• Local worker's salaries
• Ingredients for the 'supplement balls' made fresh on the base everyday to add to the food. 
• Monthly deworming for all dogs/cats (internal/external) to keep everyone healthy
• Booster vaccinations
•  Supplements and treats
• Paperwork (titer testing)
• Bedding for all animals
• Transport to and from rescues and clinics
• Cleaning materials
• Utilities (electric/heating/wifi etc)
 

We have decided to set up this separate monthly target to be sure that the cost is covered each month just for the dogs' food. 
 
Meaning that our current other monthlies can help us to ensure the other monthly costs are covered and not neglected like they currently are. 
 
One bag of dog food is 208 RMB / $28 USD

We exclusively use Royal Canin A3, as it is made with Western pet food safety and quality standards, unlike other food produced in China (as there are no laws or regulations surrounding pet products). 
 
It is also the food we have used in the clinics for the last few years and have found to most effective at providing the nutritional support our dogs need when they come to us. 
 
We get the food discounted (usually it is retailed at 230-240 RMB / bag. Sadly, despite numerous attempts at trying to get sponsorship directly from the companies over the years, this is the best deal we can get from a local supplier. Dog food is not allowed to be imported from overseas either unfortunately)
