Momentum
Moving Forward with Momentum (aka Momentum) is a local group in partnership with Connections to Success (CTS); a nationally recognized non-profit based in Kansas City and St. Louis, MO.
The goal of this program is to help anyone, particularly parents and young adults, obtain the life skills they need to be successful and obtain employment.
Under the umbrella of CTS, Momentum provides a variety of services that equip participants for long-term success. Our Personal and Professional Development training helps people living in challenging situations re-establish hope, get connected with needed resources and implement a plan to reach economic independence.
Training sessions are held for three days for two weeks, and each day is a 7-hour day. The Personal and Professional Development curriculum includes cognitive skill building, job placement and retention skills, health and wellness education, financial education, literacy and GED readiness, and transitional employment education.
Additionally, a Connect Group is held weekly to learn or relearn independent living skills, prepare for the workforce, mock interviews, and budgeting. These sessions are open to the public.
Mentors contact training graduates weekly to offer support, guidance and encouragement.
We believe that, when given the right tools and resources, families and communities can take charge of their own destinies. We are here to help them move forward – with Momentum!
