We are passionate fans of a wonderful band PLACEBO. On December 10, we will celebrate the birthday of the lead singer, Brian Molko, whom we love and respect.

Over the years, his band participated in many charity campaigns, supporting great ideas, and raising awareness of burning problems of the world.

Brian does not attach much importance to his birthday, but we do! And we know that the best present for a person like him would be doing something good for this world, helping someone in need.

This time we would like to send our help to Mercy Centre in Bangkok. Some time ago, we learnt about this place from our favourite band, and now we would like to contribute to their good cause.

Mercy Centre is a shelter for street kids, five orphanages, a 300-pupil kindergarten, a community meeting place, and a serene haven in the slums with small gardens and playgrounds. Originally built on a former Buddhist Temple site on port authority property, Mercy Centre has stood in some shape or form for nearly 50 years. In 2000, it was rebuilt through a generous gift to accommodate expanding services to orphans, street children, and children living with HIV/AIDS.

The amazing, dedicated people working there are already doing everything and even more to make the lives of those children brighter. We want to support them in it! We hope, that with the help of the funds we manage to raise, Mercy Centre will be able to give their children something special! Something which will put broad smiles on their faces and light a fire in their beautiful eyes.
