Goal
Missoula has lots of live music, but it is missing one thing: Chamber Music! It is my goal to provide a series of live chamber concerts in Missoula, featuring the amazing artists that live here.
For example, someone wrote a piece for me! I premiered the Soprano Quintet in Great Falls with the Cascade Quartet, composed by maestro Grant Harville with lyrics by violist Alyssa Roggow, to a small COVID-safe audience in March of 2021. There is nothing like performing a piece that is written just for you, and so obviously I want to share it with a greater audience!
This is where YOU come in. I want to host a repeat performance in Missoula, so I can share this incredible music with you, my neighbors and friends. When I reached out to the booking coordinator for the Cascade Quartet, she lamented that Missoula has always been a difficult town, because there is no existing group promoting and supporting classical chamber music. But I beg to differ! Missoula indeed has many people--like you--that love beautiful chamber music. Thus, the Missoula Chamber Music Collective is born. In order to pay the wonderful Cascade Quartet members a fair fee to perform a concert in Missoula, we need to raise $3000, and with your help I believe we can do it!
The concert will include:
Soprano Quintet, by Grant Harville, written for Caitlin Cisler (soprano) and the Cascade Quartet with lyrics by Alyssa Roggow (violist)
And so, by Caroline Shaw (Pulitzer Winner) featuring Caitlin Cisler (soprano)
Xingu, by Liduino Pitombeira featuring Jesse Dochnahl (saxophone)
Your collective donations will be used to bring the Cascade Quartet to Missoula to share these brand new works.
Remember, this is just the beginning. The more you give, the more music you get!
