In 2023, we lost one of the shining lights of global conservation. Professor Michael Bruford was a shining light in global conservation and contributed significantly to conservation in Borneo. Mike was also a mentor and friend to everyone in Regrow Borneo. Mike played a pivotal role in Regrow Borneo, through his untiring support for the Danau Girang Field Centre, his long-term research work in Borneo, his commitment to environmental sustainability, generosity of heart, and open collaborative nature.
We have dedicated a 10Ha area of High Conservation Value close to the Danau Girang Field Centre as a Mike Bruford Conservation Area. It is going to be a place of conservation and science. This Campaign is looking to fund the first hectare of restoration in this forest.
