Maya's Hope: Therapy for Boy in Ukraine with Severe Autism

Andrii is an 8-year-old boy with severe autism who cannot be left alone. When we asked for photos of the boy, we were sent only photos with his parents with a note "All the photos are with parents because it is impossible to take a photo of Andrii alone".

Andrii has been fighting for his life since birth. He had a severe heart defect (a large defect of the pancreatic septum and pulmonary hypertension) that required immediate surgery, which, fortunately, was successful. After that, it seemed like all the health problems were solved. But soon, Andrii was diagnosed with a severe form of autism.

He does not speak much and expresses strong self-aggression. So someone must always be close to the child. After 4 years of struggles and various medications, the family admits that the best improvement is achieved through complex rehabilitation therapy that includes speech therapy and psychological assistance. Consistency ensures steady progress. But because of the war, Andrii's parents, who also raise two other minor children, cannot afford a therapy course for the boy.

Can you help Andrii to go through therapy and feel better?
