Goal
Who We Are: We are a small, informal collective of white-bodied members of the Inclusive Therapists community. We meet monthly to address internalized white racialized superiority in our lives and in our practice.
What: A campaign to generate funds for Mental Health Liberation. We recognize white people often get together and focus on personal growth and anti-racism, without tangible support for BI&POC collective liberation. This ongoing financial commitment is part of our solution.
Why Are We Collecting Funds for Mental Health Liberation?
- Mental Health Liberation is an initiative empowered by Inclusive Therapists.
- We have benefited from membership within the Inclusive Therapists community.
- As white-bodied people, we have an active role to play in addressing systems of white supremacy delusion, anti-Black racism and colonization.
- We support the collective liberation of Black People, Indigenous People, and all People of Color
- BI&POC healing resources have been made largely inaccessible due to white supremacy delusion, racialized violence and systemic oppression.
What motivated our group to do so?
BI&POC leadership at Inclusive Therapists have modeled for us the importance of collective action in the fight against white supremacy culture. We have benefited from systemic injustice within the mental health industry and beyond. Generating support for Mental Health Liberation is a small, but collective way to offer some form of reparations.
Liberate, Heal, Thrive
Marginalized communities deserve equitable access to culturally responsive, identity-affirming therapy. Together, we bridge Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BI&POC) with quality mental health care and empower Clinicians of Color.
