Goal
Clyde has a growth on his face and we need answers.
Clyde has been under the care of a licensed veterinarian throughout this process and has been seen multiple times since this all began at the end of 2024.
It started as swelling on his snout with a small wound, so the initial thought was that it was injury-related. He was treated with antibiotics, but when the swelling didn't improve—and there were no signs of infection—our veterinarian believed it could be scar tissue.
The swelling then remained essentially unchanged for over a year. Last summer, when it had grown to about the size of a small apple, our veterinarian performed a biopsy. The pathology results showed severe inflammation, and after consulting with the pathologist, we were advised that anti-inflammatory medication was the appropriate course of treatment and that there was nothing else to be done for the inflamed tissue. We trusted the recommendations we were given.
A few months ago, when the mass began increasing in size again, we sought a second opinion. One veterinarian felt it could be related to a dental issue, but after waiting for an opening in their schedule, we also consulted the doctors at UGA who treated Biscuit and Bjorn. After reviewing Clyde's history and examining photos, they recommended that the next step should be a CT scan to determine exactly what we're dealing with.
That brings us to where we are today.
We have been trying to get answers for Clyde every step of the way, and now we finally have a plan to move forward.
Every dollar donated to Outsiders Farm & Sanctuary goes directly toward the animals and their care. Medical expenses alone typically range from $5,000 to $15,000 every month. We don't currently have a dedicated medical or emergency fund, which is why we recently launched our, Medical Miracle Giving Program, to help build a reserve for cases just like Clyde's.
The challenge is that the fund is still being built, and Clyde doesn't have the luxury of waiting.
His CT scan and specialty care at UGA are expected to cost $3,500–$4,500, and every donation—whether it's $5, $25, or $100—helps move him one step closer to getting the answers and treatment he deserves.
Update 7/10/2026: Due to additional diagnostics and the increase in specialists being consulted to try and treat Clyde, we have an estimate increase of $4,500 - $5,500.
