MDEEP 2023 Technology Award

We are beginning to raise money for our annual technology award held in June of each year! 

In 2022, we awarded eight graduating seniors in the Mississippi Delta with a technology package worth over $700 each. The materials consisted of a laptop, printer, and toner. We also awarded each recipient with a slew of door prizes to get them ready for the college life! These included bed sheets, laundry baskets and detergent, backpacks, laptop cases, and more.

We hope to raise enough money to provide eight graduating seniors in the Mississippi Delta this June with the same package! Most students in the region do not own a personal laptop or printer. Students need access to technology in college in order to complete both traditional and online classwork as well as homework, independent research, and much more. Students without access to a personal computer have to rely on school libraries in order to complete their work, creating more obstacles and stress in their busy lives. In the Mississippi Delta, students do not have the resources that many of us take for granted when we send our loved ones off to college. Our technology package goes a long way to ensure the success of our award recipients and to bridge the equity gap in the Mississippi Delta.
