In Ukraine, parents of children with special needs are encouraged to hand their children over to state care. They are told their children are a burden on society. Children are sent to institutions where they are subjected to abuse and neglect. There is minimal support available to parents who fight to keep their children with them. Maya's Hope wants to help relieve some of the burden on these amazing parents and assist in keeping children with their families, where they belong.
"Sofia is a long-awaited child. But she was born with a heart defect. The operation did not promise to be difficult, but something went wrong. The child had a clinical death. She was revived and was already close to full recovery, as we thought. But Sonechka did not speak on time, did not call me mom, was indifferent to the world around her, etc. And, like thunder in the clear sky, the diagnosis of Autism sounded. We make every effort to ensure that our girl is as close as possible in development to other children. And much has already been achieved. But the financial capabilities of our family are small. There are two older daughters, and her husband's salary is not constant.
For now, there is a huge need for the drug STRATTER (atomoxetine). It has been helping us with our learning since we went to 1st grade. We do not have such an amount for the purchase of the drug, but it is impossible to stop taking it in any case. We also need other medicines and vitamins for brain development.
I will be very glad if you pay attention to us. Thank you in advance!"
Can you help us provide Sofia with medicines and vitamins for the next six months?
