In Ukraine, parents of children with special needs are encouraged to hand their children over to state care. They are told their children are a burden on society. Children are sent to institutions where they are subjected to abuse and neglect. There is minimal support available to parents who fight to keep their children with them. Maya's Hope wants to help relieve some of the burden on these amazing parents and assist in keeping children with their families, where they belong.
"My baby was born at 35 weeks, was immediately operated on. We fought for his life for a long time. He developed adhesions in his intestines, because of this, we operated again and removed part of the intestine. David was constantly on intravenous feeding and was fed with a tube (through the nose), so now there are problems with the nose. At 7 months after birth, we were discharged home, we were constantly under the supervision of 2 weeks in the hospital 2 weeks at home. For the intestines, there were 7 operations.
We constantly support the intestines with medicines. We live on our own, I can't work because he is often sick. I need to pay for our apartment and for his treatment - he has poor eyesight, examination and treatment are required, flatfeet, need orthopedic shoes. I can't do everything myself, his father does not help. So I will be glad for any help. Thank you."
Can you help us purchase medicines for David for the next three months?
