Maya's Hope: Surgery for a Boy with Cerebral Palsy

In Ukraine, parents of children with special needs are encouraged to hand their children over to state care. They are told their children are a burden on society. Children are sent to institutions where they are subjected to abuse and neglect. There is minimal support available to parents who fight to keep their children with them. Maya's Hope wants to help relieve some of the burden on these amazing parents and assist in keeping children with their families, where they belong.

"Good day!  I am Svetlana, mother of two children with cerebral palsy! Twins! I would like to ask you for help in paying for the operation to my son Denis who is 10 years old and has cerebral palsy, spastic diplegia! Born prematurely at 28 weeks. As a result - cerebral palsy! We have undergone many rehabilitations, we have good results in 2014, there was an operation to remove spasticity, after which the child began to walk with sticks by himself. Already he is even trying to walk a little by himself! But now intensive growth has begun and spasticity appears again. The doctor recommends performing an operation again so that the child can walk!

We really believe that after surgery, the muscles will relax and it will be easier to start walking on his own and will achieve his goal of being independent! We hope you can help us."

Can you help us raise the funds needed for surgery for Denis?
