In Ukraine, parents of children with special needs are encouraged to hand their children over to state care. They are told their children are a burden on society. Children are sent to institutions where they are subjected to abuse and neglect. There is minimal support available to parents who fight to keep their children with them. Maya's Hope wants to help relieve some of the burden on these amazing parents and assist in keeping children with their families, where they belong.
Vadim was born in March at 32 weeks. From the first days he has been in intensive care. Diagnosed with sepsis, necrotizing enterocolitis of newborns. During these three months, he has undergone five abdominal surgeries. Due to the persistent infection, a second intervention is planned to strengthen the sutures. In order to eliminate the infection, it was decided to undergo a course of treatment with two strong antibiotics. The total cost of therapy with these and other supportive drugs is extremely high. For three months of treatment his family has already spent 150,000 UAH (Over $5000 USD). Vadim was born into a loving family, his dad works seven days a week so that there is money for his treatment, but this is not enough. They have no more funds available. His mama is with him all the time at the hospital. At home, dad and his brothers are waiting for her return with Vadim.
Can you help us raise the funds needed for baby Vadim's expensive treatment?
