Maya's Hope: Formula, Nutrition and Diapers for a Girl who has Cerebral Palsy

In Ukraine, parents of children with special needs are encouraged to hand their children over to state care. They are told their children are a burden on society. Children are sent to institutions where they are subjected to abuse and neglect. There is minimal support available to parents who fight to keep their children with them. Maya's Hope wants to help relieve some of the burden on these amazing parents and assist in keeping children with their families, where they belong.

"Veronika was born in July 2015, diagnosed with cerebral palsy, hyperkinetic form and speech development delay. Veronica was born in the 35th week of pregnancy, due to asphyxia of the fetus, a cesarean section was performed. In serious condition, the child was transferred to the neonatal unit. Our daughter developed hemolytic disease with high bilirubin levels (480). There was a blood transfusion, treatment in the neonatal pathology department, but due to asphyxia and high bilirubin she was diagnosed with a movement disorder. In her 5 years, she can't sit, walk, but we have speech, her intellect is preserved, she understands everything. We have improved hand motility, improved vision. But despite the diagnosis, the prognosis in the hyperkinetic form of cerebral palsy depends on timely and continuous treatment and rehabilitation."

Veronika's family struggle to provide her with all the essentials and receive minimal assistance from the government. To help them we want to purchase diapers and formula for Veronika for the next three months. Want to join us?
