In Ukraine, parents of children with special needs are encouraged to hand their children over to state care. They are told their children are a burden on society. Children are sent to institutions where they are subjected to abuse and neglect. There is minimal support available to parents who fight to keep their children with them. Maya's Hope wants to help relieve some of the burden on these amazing parents and assist in keeping children with their families, where they belong.
"Our long-awaited baby was born right on time, the birth went well. She was born a healthy baby. Three days after birth she developed jaundice. Due to inadequate and delayed treatment provided by her doctors, damage was done to her brain. She is now delayed in all areas of her development. Now Veronica is already 3 years old, and her weight is only 10 kg, only special food helps us to maintain the condition of the child, without which we cannot in any way. Also, there is the need for diapers, as we do not receive security from the state. Please help our baby."
