In Ukraine, parents of children with special needs are encouraged to hand their children over to state care. They are told their children are a burden on society. Children are sent to institutions where they are subjected to abuse and neglect. There is minimal support available to parents who fight to keep their children with them. Maya's Hope wants to help relieve some of the burden on these amazing parents and assist in keeping children with their families, where they belong.
Masha is 6 years old and lives with her mama. She has cerebral palsy and epilepsy. In February 2020, she had a stroke. She was in hospital for several weeks. Maya's Hope funded formula, medicines and a MRI for her during her recovery.
Her mother writes: "Thanks again for the help with food. Doctors say that it’s right, that we add special nutrition to the main diet, she really needs digestible protein and vitamins, and this is all there is in Resource and Alfara nutrition. So while we are going to feed our baby, all the more she is gaining good weight, already almost 14 kg. She was only 10 kg before. Thanks to your foundation for your help sincerely and wholeheartedly."
We want to continue to help Masha continue to recover, gain weight and thrive!
So we are raising funds to cover the costs of her formula and medicines for the next 3 months. Can you help?
