Maya's Hope: Margarita's Hope Program (Yuri)
"So this is the story of our family ... Our names are Svetlana and Vadim. 12 years ago, in our ordinary family, a special boy Yura appeared, at that time we did not even imagine that we would have to do to help our beautiful newborn boy survive. We did not know that a family of 'ordinary' status would go into 'special' status. Yuri was initially discharged from hospital as completely healthy. But after a while, when the first onset of epilepsy occurred, we realized that this was not the case and our baby was unwell. After this, our baby's childhood turned into endless examinations, injections, pills, drips, rehabilitation centers, hospitals, pain, fear and tears! Plans, hopes, dreams and and savings have disappeared.

Diagnosis of our son: congenital brain defects, pachygyria, epilepsy, pituitary hypoplasia, and many more names of pathologies that sometimes even make it difficult to pronounce their names. Yurchik is far behind in development, poor coordination of movements prevents him from moving and working with his hands, cannot talk normally, has problems with chewing, swallowing and a sea of comorbid conditions such as 3-stage scoliosis adenoids (surgery is required). But no matter what, we try to do our best to make our boy feel complete in society and be independent. He is a 5th grader individually, loves to draw, and draws beautifully.

We live in a small town, in a rented home, which is in a terrible state, where there are no good living conditions, because of financial shortages, hospitalizations, expensive medicines that will constantly increase in dose. We have used all our savings. My husband, Yuri's father, works hard, but because of his health (heart, pancreas), he can't work where he is paid well.

In addition to Yurchik, our family has two other children, Vadim and Evangelina. Yes, we are a large family with many children. Eve and Vadimchyk are the impetus for the development of our Yurchik (because he always wants to be first) and a great pleasure and help for us.

We believe that we will be alright. That God will not leave us!"
