Children in the Philippines who live in extreme poverty lack access to quality healthcare. They are often denied assistance and are unable to afford necessities to improve their quality of life.
Kristoff is a one-year-old boy who lives with his parents in the Philippines. Kristoff has a urachal cyst which is a sac-like pocket of tissue that develops in the urachus, a primitive structure that connects the umbilical cord to the bladder in the developing baby. Although it normally disappears prior to birth, part of the urachus may remain in some people. Urine, blood and puss are seeping from Kristoff's umbilicus (belly button). It is painful, itchy and puts him at high risk of a life-threatening infection.
Kristoff needs surgery to excise the cyst. Both of his parents lost their jobs due to the pandemic. In recent months has been able to find temporary work to support her family while his father cares for him and his sibling. They do not have any money to pay for his surgery and have to watch their son suffer.
Can you help us raise the funds needed for his surgery and help improve Kristoff's comfort and quality of life?
