Children in the Philippines who live in extreme poverty lack access to quality healthcare. They are often denied assistance and are unable to afford necessities to improve their quality of life.
Jania is a beautiful one-year-old little girl who lives in the Philippines. She was born with hydrocephalus, and in January 2021, Maya’s Hope funded urgent surgery to insert a shunt.
When Jania was in the hospital, her father left the family. Jania’s mother has been raising her alone and recently noticed Jania was having problems with her vision. After a doctor’s visit and a CT Scan, it was revealed that she has a chronic subdural hematoma, blood on the surface of the brain. Emergency surgery for Jania is needed as the skin on her head is thin and may cause infection if it breaks.

Jania’s mother cannot afford the high cost of surgery on her own and reached out to us to help her daughter again.
Can you help us raise the funds needed for urgent surgery?
