Children in the Philippines who live in extreme poverty lack access to quality healthcare. They are often denied assistance and are unable to afford necessities to improve their quality of life.
Baby Queen is two months old and was born with a myelomenigocele (an opening in her spine) and hydrocephalus. She urgently needs surgery to repair the opening in her spine and will likely need a shunt to drain the fluid from her brain.
Her mother is unable to work as she just gave birth and her father's income is variable. They are struggling to provide the essentials for their family, let alone afford an expensive surgery.
