Matthew Spivey for Sullivan County School Board- District 3

While everyone’s decisions are based on emotion, in my role as a school board member, I have attempted to approach decisions humbly, utilizing my training as a lawyer, with the main goal of advocating for public education for all children in Sullivan County. Patience, open-mindedness and common sense require taking the time to learn the issues. I do not have an agenda other than continuing to strive and improve public education for all families in Sullivan County (including Kingsport and Bristol).

This means at times, hard decisions have to be made. I am not scared to act, as I believe all
leaders should, in a professional, humble, and caring manner, while being ready to make decisions based on facts, data, and opinions from professionals in education and the community.
