SET RADIATION LIMITS ON TECH
SIGNING A PETITION FOR A
LAW ON THE MASS. BALLOT!
Despite studies showing concrete harm to people, plants, wildlife, and the environment from random radiation emitted from wireless and electrical products, industry has pushed denial, deregulation, and expansion. Because non-ionizing, electromagnetic radiation interacts powerfully with our biology, we need limits.
LEGISLATORS DEAF TO DANGER
Only voters can demand regulation because many state legislators never show up to hearings, and many popular, widely-sponsored bills never come to vote. Because the Massachusetts legislature, among the least transparent in America, has failed to bring protective legislation to the floor for a vote despite hearings and good legislation with backing from representatives and senators, we need your help to bypass the legislature and convince voters to support change.
PROTECT CHILDREN FROM TECH RADIATION
Many other countries already do more than us to limit non-ionizing radiation like wireless and electricity, with tech-advanced Israel, Cyprus, and France limiting school exposures to protect youth -- limits include not just hard-wired connectivity, but fields from electricity.
LIES ABOUT SAFETY
Google and other search engines may provide search results direct from the telecom industry first that cite 'expert groups' affiliated with industry, including the WHO EMF Project, Europe's ICNIRP and the USA's relevant IEEE subcommittees COMAR and ICES (which includes participants from Motorola, Huawei, Intel, and industry consultancies among c. 40 attendees January 19, 2023). Numbers citing safety are few -- just 17 self-referenced citations for ICNIRP's 2020 guidelines for the world -- in contrast to the thousands of studies showing harm. Even James Lin, a former IEEE COMAR chair and ICNIRP member, has reversed course to critique ICNIRP's 2020 and the IEEE's 2019 guidelines.
REAL EXPERTS RECOGNIZE THREATS
Having retired, former leaders of relevant programs at the US National Institutes of Environmental Health Sciences, including Linda Birnbaum, Ronald Melnick, and Christopher Portier, now actively share how radiofrequency radiation is primary cause of cancer.
As Dr. Paul Heroux has explained, to prevent ill health (including genetic, neurological, reproductive, etc.), we need to progressively clean our environment of wireless & other tech radiation, not augment with 5G or 6G. Many scientific experts say the same.
AN INITIATIVE PETITION FOR A BALLOT QUESTION IS OUR BEST CHANCE
If from September to November 2023 enough Massachusetts voter signatures are gathered, the legislature would have to vote on whether to pass the legislation in early 2024 and can propose amendments. If it doesn't pass, voters would then decide in the fall.
WE CAN BEAT BIG TECH!
We ask that you help as you can, such as by donating, sharing with friends and neighbors, lobbying legislators, signing and sharing petitions. You can reach people who don't read the local paper, our adopted website, and you can bypass problematic computer algorithms and persuade in person. You can help swing public opinion.
WHAT WOULD THE PROPOSED LAW ENTAIL?
The proposed laws includes the following:
- require tech design that makes turning off or limiting wireless easy;
- require tech design that limits all kinds of incidental non-ionizing radiation;
- make information on wireless facilities (e.g. cell towers) readily accessible to the public;
- require the Massachusetts telecommunications department adopt technologies that best reduce non-ionizing radiation;
- make it much easier to sue and penalize wireless corporations for failing to protect us;
- establish a commission of first responders and others to examine how best to protect them, while maintaining needed services;
- establish a commission to examine what else should be done to protect the public, including members from unions as well as a small business representative;
- set a two-year ban on most new wireless facilities during the commission study;
- set exposure limits on wireless facility (e.g. cell towers ) to be as safe and minimal as possible for wireless service;
- allow smart meter opt outs;
- steps to hard-wire, educate, and limit exposures in public education, higher education, and indoor public spaces; and
- redirect investment to maintain the public wired infrastructure that connects telecommunications and broadband services.
