Mardochée joined our family in June 2025, after his father came to us seeking help during an incredibly difficult time. Mardochée is one of seven siblings. Sadly, his mother has fallen ill, and his father, unable to work, has taken on the full responsibility of caring for the youngest children at home. Faced with overwhelming circumstances, his father made the heartbreaking decision to seek outside support for Mardochée, in hopes of ensuring his son could have access to daily care, food, and education—things he could no longer provide on his own.

We pray that one day this family can be whole again. However, the reality is that the cycle of extreme poverty in Haiti often forces families into impossible situations—where parents must choose between working to survive or being present to raise their children. Until that day of reunion comes, we are honored to care for Mardochée, offering him safety, love, and stability during this time of separation.

Mardochée has a deep need for love and affection and is happiest when he’s close to someone. When he first arrived, he wanted to be held all day, every day. He has already come such a long way since then.With the three meals a day he now receives in our home, we’re so happy to see him gaining weight and beginning to grow. While he’s still underweight for his age, we’re confident he’ll catch up in time. We also discovered that he loves toddler protein formula—“milk,” as he calls it—which was generously donated by a supporter.

Mardochée is very curious about toys and finds great joy in them. Every new car, ball, or action figure brings a wave of excitement. In group play, he tends to be a quiet observer, still adjusting and taking in this new life—one that must be so different from what he knew before.

Your sponsorship will not only provide Mardochée with three meals a day, essential necessities, and access to education when he turns three, but also a strong sense of hope and light as he grows. We’ve seen firsthand how sponsors can offer motivation, love, and support—even from afar—and how deeply that impacts our children.
