March 2026 Giving

To be Lucy's mom and dad is the greatest joy.

During last year's Rising Kites campaign, Lucy was hardly 1 year old and I shared more about her diagnosis story and the moments following her birth. It's funny how with time some details simply don't matter anymore. I don't remember the last time we thought of Lucy's diagnosis or the scary moments of uncertainty following her arrival to this earth because the joy that her life brings us has both consumed and changed our hearts in beautiful ways the last 2 years. 

Whether spending time with friends and family, an afternoon trip to Costco, a grocery run, running through the airport, dinner out, or you fill in the blank...Lucy bubbles over with joy. Her enthusiastic wave, sparkling (and naughty) eyes, contagious giggle, and beaming smile meet people where they are - friends, family, and strangers alike.

Rising Kites exists to celebrate ALL lives and deems every one of them worthy of love, belonging, respect, care, and opportunity. I hope and pray that Lucy gets to grow up in a world where she finds all of these things all the time because Lucy, like ALL individuals, is worthy of them.
