Manie Musicale Collaborative
Manie Musicale Collaborative is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that works to promote the French language and culture through music. Each year, thousands of students worldwide participate in this event, modeled after the NCAA March Madness basketball tournament. Students fill out brackets and vote to decide which of 16 songs from the French-speaking world will win the competition. I can't even begin to measure the positive effects of Manie Musicale on my and my students' mood because we have songs to hum and sing along to. Besides that, the month-long, consistent opportunities to practice sharing thoughts and opinions about music in multiple contexts are priceless.
