Investing directly in the future of hundreds of individuals living in rural Malawi, Africa by providing educational opportunities.

Educational Programs:

A perfect example of community-based initiative, the Well Wishes Nursery Schools provide morning early development learning for over 40 little ones in Manchewe and nearby Nkhota Village. Not only does the program give the students a leg up for primary school, all the children are provided with a morning nutritious porridge (full of necessary vitamins and minerals needed to fight malnutrition). It also allows mothers to tend to the gardens without having a child on their back in the morning sun.

The average primary (elementary) school class size exceeds 70 pupils per classroom in Malawi! As you can imagine, this creates an incredibly difficult learning environment. Although teachers try their best, it is impossible to cater to every student. As a result, many students drop out of primary school at an early age due to low test results and lack of support. With your help, this year we hope to provide a sufficient number of teachers/per students ratio in the Manchewe Primary school to improve the quality of education & provide support for students.

Many families in northern Malawi rely on subsistence farming (growing enough food to feed their families for the year) and do not earn a monitory income. Secondary (high) school in Malawi is not free. This struggle results in many youths not able to attend secondary school, continuing the cycle of poverty within Malawi. Education is the key to breaking this cycle. We are committed to supporting youth in Manchewe village who would otherwise not have a chance to go to school. Are you with us? For $20 a month YOU could provide a sustainable future for a deserving child in rural Malawi.
