Most of Malaysia has experienced moderate to heavy rainfall with thunderstorms since Dec 17, causing severe flooding - one of its worst floods in years. Tens of thousands have already been displaced with more expected as weather forecasts downpours to continue until early 2022.
Adding to the misery already faced due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, the floods have damaged houses, destroyed property, vehicles and roads.
Mercy Mission Malaysia is working to help the flood victims. We prioritise the needs of children, elderly and disabled among the flood victims as they require special care and have unique needs. Funds will also be used to help the victims to transition back into their homes once the flood recedes.
We are targeting RM200,000 in quick donations so that assistance can be channeled to them in a timely manner.
